Machine Intelligence

The focus of this master's programme is on intelligent systems for handling uncertainty. Reasoning under uncertainty is performed in systems for diagnosis, planning, monitoring of complex processes, data mining, and autonomous virtual agents. The education is a combination of theoretical courses and project work.

The programme is managed by the Machine Intelligence Group, which is one of the world's leading research groups on uncertainty in artificial intelligence. In particular, the group is very strong on graphical models (e.g. Bayesian networks).

MI 1.

Project

The project work has the overall heading Decision Support Systems, and the students are usually required to construct a decision support system for a specific purpose.

MI 2.

Project

The project work has the overall heading Data Mining, and, given a large database, the students are usually required to establish a model that describes patterns of particular interest.
