PhD.

The Faculty's Ph.D. studies are organised by its  Doctoral School that offers three-year degree programmes. The  Doctoral school governs the Ph.D. study in computer science and engineering . Ph.D. supervision is caried out by permanent faculty members at the department, while Ph.D. courses are held both by internal and international lecturers.

The department  typically funds 1-2 Ph.D. positions  per year for full-time research in three years. Many additional Ph.D. positions are offered by externally funded research projects. A few Ph.D. positions are devoted to collaboration with an IT company.  A few Ph.D. students are without a Ph.D. position, and fund their studies themselves.

Ph.D. students devote the full three-year period to a particular research project that is within the interests of one of the research groups. This work is supplemented by Ph.D. courses and most likely also by a six-month visit at a university abroad.
